Active Buyer

An active buyer is a customer who has made a purchase within a period of the last 12 months. Active buyers are highly likely to buy again and are considered “hot” leads in direct marketing.
 
Some offline and online direct marketers believe that active buyers are most likely to make an additional purchase within 30 days of a prior purchase. Thus, the hot lead period.
 
There are many mailing list companies that sell hot names, or the names and addresses of people who have purchased a particular product or service within the last 30 days.
