Ecommerce

Term used to describe the growing industry and economy of buying and selling products and services over the Internet. There are two classifications of e-commerce: B2B (business-to-business) and B2C (business-to-consumer).
 
Some compelling statistics regarding e-commerce and the Internet economy:
  •  Research firm IDC predicts the world Internet economy to reach 1 trillion by 2001.
  •  Forrester Research reports that online advertising revenue is expected to reach $33 billion worldwide by 2004.
