With a paid ad, you will simply pay a one-time fee to be listed in a sponsor box in the newsletter or e-zine issue(s).
With a joint venture, commissions from sales generated by the advertisement are split between the e-zine owner and the advertiser. In a joint venture, typically there are no upfront costs incurred by the advertiser. Instead, the advertiser pays a commission (a percentage of gross profit) earned by the ad.
